The NetVanta

1000 Series from ADTRAN

is a

standards-based, non-blocking Layer 2 switching

solution available at a cost that is 20 to 50 percent

less than competing brand name switches. These

value-oriented devices are suitable for intercon-

necting LAN devices or for network segmentation

in applications requiring Fast Ethernet, Power

over Ethernet, or Gigabit Ethernet functionality.

All-in-one network access solution

Designed for small- and medium-sized businesses

requiring converged WAN/LAN, and branch office

or multi-site connectivity, NetVanta 1224R/1224STR

integrated switch-routers simplify installation,

configuration, and network administration;

reduce the number of devices to be managed;

eliminate excess cabling costs; and minimize

the need for on-site IT personnel.

A complete QoS solution

NetVanta 1000 Series Ethernet switches and

switch-routers provide a fully compatible,

single-source QoS solution for delay-sensitive

applications, such as voice or video over IP.

These products guarantee Class of Service (CoS)

in accordance with 802.1p at Layer 2 and DiffServ

at Layer 3, and use Weighted Round Robin (WRR),

Weighted Fair, and Strict Priority or Low Latency

queuing to prioritize traffic.

PoE and NAT-traversal enable VoIP

and other new technologies

NetVanta switches and switch-routers are

available with PoE functionality. PoE-enabled

models save time and expense by eliminating

the need for an external power source for VoIP

phones, Wireless Access Points (WAPs), and other

LAN-powered devices.

Housed in a compact 1U chassis, NetVanta

1000 Series PoE models supply 15.4 watts of

power per port, the maximum supported by the

802.3af standard (370 watts total). These devices

automatically discover other 802.3af standards-

based, LAN-powered devices on the network.

A specialized Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)

Application Level Gateway (ALG) ensures

seamless delivery of VoIP calls to SIP-based

phones, IP PBXs, and other IP-enabled devices

requiring LAN power, without having to disable

firewalls or compromise network security.

Affordable, high-capacity bandwidth

ADTRAN’s new NetVanta 1524ST Gigabit Ethernet

switch significantly lowers the cost of bandwidth

in your network, and changes the business case

for Gigabit migration. Available for less than

half of what brand name Gigabit switches cost,

the NetVanta 1524ST sets a new standard of

affordability in high-bandwidth and Gigabit-to-

the-desktop deployments.

The NetVanta 1524ST is equipped with 24

10/100/1000Base-T ports, including four combina-

tion SFP/1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet ports

(ports 21–24). Up to 16 NetVanta Gigabit and Fast

Ethernet switches may be stacked (using copper

or fiber) and managed using a single IP address.

Compliant with 802.lab Link Layer Discovery

Protocol (LLDP), the NetVanta 1524ST auto-

discovers neighboring Ethernet devices, simplify-

ing integration into multi-vendor environments.

Easy to configure, manage, and update

The NetVanta 1000 Series offers two types of user

interface for ease-of-use and simplicity—a famil-

iar, easily recognizable CLI and an easy-to-use,

web-based GUI. Both ADTRAN-designed inter-

faces allow you to retain multiple configuration

files and firmware images for easy configuration

of multiple units, or for file backup or emergency

recovery of existing configurations.
